YouTube personalities Logan Paul, MrBeast and KSI recently created what they called a “healthier” alternative to Kraft Heinz’s beloved Lunchables — but another content creator is giving a pizza her mind.
YouTuber Rosanna Pansino has branded Lunchly, which advertises an “innovative new better-for-you lunch option”, as “disgusting” after it allegedly found mold in the cheese part of their The Pizza product.
In an early promotion for the brand, MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, claimed that “our pizza uses real cheese” and the Pizza ingredients listed include low-moisture, low-skim mozzarella cheese, as well as pizza crust, sauce and pulled pork. pepperoni.
But when Pansino reviewed the food, she discovered that the cheese on the Lunchly pizza was moldy — despite being well past its expiration date — sharing on X: “This is disgusting.”
“I was filming a video comparing Lunchables to Lunchly and was shocked when I opened ‘The Pizza’ Lunchly. The cheese was moldy!” she shared.
“The expiration date was still 2 months away! I checked online and found at least a dozen other people posting that their Lunchlys were also moldy,” Pansino continued.
She still put together Lunchly to show her followers what it should look like — and the mold was ever present.
“‘I like my blue cheese, bruh!” 🤢”, she said in a post. “What flavor of mold did you guys get?”
“Please be careful everyone. This is not safe and it is not okay. Especially for children!” Pansino warned.
In a later YouTube video, Pansino explained that the Lunchly products she reviewed on Oct. 16 had a best-by date of Dec. 4, 2024 — so they’re “supposed to be good for another two months,” she said. .
“This is formed. This is mold! That’s not safe, especially kids who are so young, they might not know what mold looks like, so they might just eat it,” she said. “That’s really unhealthy, you shouldn’t eat mold. I think it’s a packaging issue, the glue here feels really cheap. It’s not vacuum sealed.”
Her video was originally intended to compare the nutritional value between Lunchly and their rival Lunchables, but the mold caused her to switch gears.
“I did not fake this. I would honestly go over the nutritional facts and differences between the two with input from two doctors and give you healthy alternatives to these things that are still affordable.
“I didn’t expect that,” Pansino said.
When contacted about the allegations, a Lunchly spokesperson said in a statement to The Post: “All Lunchly products go through a rigorous review process to ensure the quality and safety of its products. This process consists of multiple inspections and approvals, including that of the USDA, before any product can even leave the manufacturing facility.
Lunchly has three product options: turkey and cheese crackers, nacho chips and salsa, and pizza. Each comes with a Prime-branded sports drink from Paul and KSI — even though hey were recently sued by a manufacturer over claims they reneged on a Prime deal, as well as separately by the US Olympic committee for “blatant” violations of trademark – along with a MrBeast Feastables candy bar made with rice sticks.
When it comes to The Pizza, Lunchly’s offering is 12 grams of sugar instead of 20 from Lunchables. There’s also a slight calorie difference: Lunchly has 360 compared to Lunchables’ 390.
